Richard Griscom is the association university librarian for collections a liaison services at the University of Pennsylvania Libraries He came to Penn in 2004 as head of the Otto E. Albrecht Music Library and the Eugene Ormandy Music and Media Center.
Griscom is trained as a musician and has played recorder in the Penn Baroque and Recorder Ensemble since 2004. He is coauthor of The Recorder: A Research and Information Guide, which won the Music Library Association’s 2014 Duckles Award for the best book-length bibliography or other research tool in music.
Over his ten years at Penn, he has been assigned responsibilities in a number of areas outside the music library. From 2006 until 2008, he was project leader for ScholarlyCommons@Penn–the University of Pennsylvania’s institutional repository; he was interim coordinator for humanities collections from 2008 to 2009, and acting head of the Fisher Fine Arts Library in 2014–15.
