Ingredients

  • 10 Tbsp. cold butter, cut into chunks
  • 10 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • About 40 pecan halves

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Place grated cheese in bowl, add butter, and work them together with your hands, forming a ball
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, dry mustard, garlic power, and onion powder
  4. Add flour mixture to cheese mixture and work together with hands
  5. Add Worcestershire sauce and work it into the batter
  6. Sprinkle paprika over batter and work it in
  7. Form into balls 1 inch in diameter
  8. Press pecan half firmly into the top of each ball, slightly flattening it
  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, untile the bottoms are slightly brown and the tops are golden
